You may recall our blog published earlier this year following NHS England announcing that a new child and adolescent mental health unit is to be built in Cornwall. Conroys Solicitors LLP very much welcomed this news as, unfortunately, we have a lot of experience of children and young people having to move out of county and hundreds of miles away from home to receive the care and treatment they require.

The 12-bed unit will be built on the grounds of Bodmin Hospital and will cater for males and females suffering from mental health conditions aged between 13 and 18 years old. It is also understood that the facility is to include accommodation for family and relatives.

At the end of last month, it was announced that Interserve are to be the developer of the new unit, with building starting in Spring 2018 and a completion date of April 2019.
